It is simple, affordable, clean, and like an old traditional house. The staff is pleasant only awkward because he didn't speak english well.

The staff were so friendly and helpful!! They went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and catered for. They even helped us organise our transport to Thailand. The location was ideal, very central and easy to walk to all the main attractions.

I really liked the beds in individual niches to have some privacy. The mattress is large and comfy, there are hooks and a towel rack, an electrical outlet and an extra lamp. Air conditioning in the dorms but not too cold, just good temperature! There is toilet paper and also hooks and towel racks in the showers. The establishment is well located, in a quiet street close to the city center.

it’s convenient and comfortable if you used to stay in hostel before or used to share rooms. talking about the dormitory. it was superb clean and comfortable for me. the hosts were very friendly and helpful. so kind to even suggest some places for newbies to visit. the place is very near to Chulia Street, Little India, and also some bars. walking distance only. quite strategic.

It’s very affordable for travellers operating on a budget, and I feel you learn more about the real Penang this way too by staying in a neighbourhood where individuals from the local area run their businesses from, there are lots of variety close by in terms of places to eat and drink. Also really liked the privacy afforded in the sleeping area, the bed is essentially a sleeping capsule/pod which I’ve done once before in Switzerland, but the one at Stewart Houze was much better ventilated than Switzerland (with option to turn fan on/off inside the pod) meaning for a much more comfortable nights sleep. Wifi very reliable too and owners very friendly.

I often come back to this accommodation because it has the best price/value in town. In the dorm you have maximum privacy thanks to the box structure and plugs at every bed. Internet is good and free water & lockers available. It is calm inside (no outside noise and calm doors) and dorms are not too big. In addition enough toilets and showers, very friendly, welcoming, and helpful owners and a nice terrace to hang out / meet other travellers make this place the best hostel in Georgetown (I tried several others already).

The owner was very friendly and made me feel safe and at home. He was also very helpful in telling me about local attractions and where to eat in the city. It was situated in the heart of George Town and as soon as you step out the door there is street art and things to see. It was very easy to get around on foot and using public transport. I would definitely recommend this place to a friend and stay again!

I really liked the privacy of the beds with the curtains, light, a little extractor and electric socket! The air conditioner was perfect, even a fridge if you need it, some things for breakfast, wifi was perfect too! All the things you need in a hostel!

From the comfortable, private capsule style beds in cool air conditioning — each with their own power and light, to the hot showers, to the welcoming common area, which is both secure and easy yo come and go as you please, there's not much not to like about this place. Especially memorable was a manager that invited myself and other travelers out to a local affordable steam sauna two nights in a row. This was a new experience for me, and I appreciated having an activity to finish up the days wandering around Georgetown on foot.

The dorm rooms were designed really well so that they're spacious and the beds are so comfy. Great location between Chinatown and Little India and the patio outside was a nice touch
